The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), in collaboration with Microsoft, has officially launched its Blockchain-based Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI) — a transformative step toward modernizing global financial markets.

The DMI platform is designed to bring blockchain efficiency and scalability to the entire asset lifecycle, covering:

  • Issuance

  • Tokenization

  • Distribution

  • Post-trade settlement

  • Ongoing asset servicing

Most Importantly, this innovation spans multiple asset classes, setting the stage for interoperability across traditional and emerging financial systems.

This announcement comes shortly after Google unveiled AP2, signaling a broader trend of institutional adoption of blockchain technology to build open, interoperable, and efficient financial infrastructures.

LSEG’s initiative aims to help private funds digitize workflows, unlock new liquidity opportunities, and expand market access across a broad range of asset categories. By embedding distributed ledger technology (DLT) into core infrastructure, LSEG is positioning itself at the forefront of the next generation of digital finance.
